Menus

This all started with a Christmas dinner, every year I end up sitting on the floor, surrounded by stacks of papers and recipes and I develop a timeline like I'm planning an invasion.

While this is a lot of fun there are always a couple of ah-hah! moments when I think 'I should have seen this coming'. Inevitably there's a few last minute adjustments and everything works out. Food gets on the table in a sorta-timely manner and no one's died of malnutrition yet but I thought it might make sense to write it up so that next year I wouldn't be starting from scratch again.

That lead me to the notion of saving menus. Because if the goal is to get great food on the table it's going to take more than just having a great recipe. It's how that recipe is executed and that (along with the cooks stress level) can easily be derailed by insanity in the kitchen.

So, put on some music and let the dance begin....
