Find a sunny spot in the yard and break out the measuring tape. Then measure again, and again, and one more time for good measure and order the lumber. Then head to home depot to pick up the hardware and drag the saw out of the basement for its first real test with miter cuts.
Then the project can begin...
Step 1: Order lumber and test each piece by walking the plank.

Step 2: Life gets busy so lumber becomes toddler seating for a while.

Step 3: Before tackling those first cuts measure, measure again, try desperately to remember the number while toddler recites "One Three Six Two One....". Give up, measure again.

Step 4: Finish the cuts and have Tomas The Tank approve our work.

Step 5: Connor loves to check the 'Bubbles', very helpful.

Step 6: Stop everything for a quick train trip. Turns out straps make great railroads.

Step 7: Layer one is ready for its train check.

Step 8: Reorganize all of the hardware while no one is looking....

Step 9: Bzzzzzz, Bzzzzzz. Drill works much better with sound effects.

Step 10: 2 layers and a seat to sit on (climb over)

Step 11: What to you mean this thing isn't for trains? You're kidding right?
Step 12: Discuss the finer points of train transportation with Dad.

Step 13: Dad helps Connor to safely dismount the new contraption....

Step 14: Connor (and twains) insist on climbing back into the box.
Step 15: Round of applause.

Step 16: Congratulatory smooch.

Step 17: Walk the plank again.

Step 18: Toddler totters...

Step 19: ... and ends up upside down again. How does he always wind up upside down?
