Sugar Frosting

Best.Frosting.Ever!!! (at least for sugar cookies). This has a strong almond flavor, a perfect punch on a plain vanilla cookie. 📷

Ingredients

1 cup regular granulated sugar 1 cup confectioners' sugar 2 teaspoons milk 1/4 cup of water 2 teaspoons light corn syrup 1/4 teaspoon almond extract (although I often add a little extra, it's the best part!) assorted food coloring

Directions

In a small saucepan, add 1 cup of regular granulated sugar to 1/4 cup of water. Bring to the boil, heat until sugar has dissolved. In a mixer, add confectioners' sugar, milk, almond extract and 2 teaspoons of the sugar syrup. Beat until icing is smooth and glossy. Adjust for consistency. More confectioners' sugar to thicken, more sugar syrup to water. Divide into bowls and color. Dip, paint or pipe onto cookies.
