The Lion, The Witch And The Sofa...

Why is it that every toy in the house inevitably ends up under the sofa? They do. And I spend a disproportionate amount of my day desperately sliding the sweeping brush handle around under the sofa just a little bit terrified of the puddle of missing toys, keys, remote controls, dust bunnies and occasional attack spiders that I'm about to unleash on my family room. So, armed with a seemingly endless supply of hockey tape and a Google map to Home Depot I set off to fix this once and for all.

I found piping insulation in the plumbing department that looked to be about the right size so for a whopping $1.12 per tube (I brought home 8 of them to go all around our sectional), a couple of corner pieces and then taped the whole thing together. The tubing is a pretty tight fit so one I pushed it under the sofa it stays nicely in place.

That was about a month ago and it's worked great, no sign of damage yet and I haven't had to dig out any toys since it was installed. I'm relieved to be have to constantly fish toys out of the abyss, Connor is happy that he can reach his own toys now. A small, small change but it really did make a big difference.
